this is my:
first time taking a long distance plane ride without my parents.
first time living in scotland.
first time living in cold climate.
first time experiencing cold summer.
first time experiencing 4 am to 10 pm constant sunshine.(cannot sleep).=_=
arriving in uk, i can't help being so excited. so much things to see, things to look out for, converting prices, comparing pounds to rm, comparing different types products available just in airport.
even the immigration is soooooooooo different from us (ie mafan).
everything went smoothly for me (no chinese terrorist cases) and all of us reach university of strathclyde safely!!!a clear and good weather welcomes us here!
this is thomas campbell hostel where i am living.see the sunshine glistening at the windows???
acclimatising:
went in search of tesco express because cannot go to tesco extra (various reasons applied here.late, need to settle stuff, too far etc etc) so we had small tesco walk instead of big tesco walk. we end up near central station and eating mcdonalds instead.hahahahaha
shops here closed at 5/6 pm.only thursday is a shopping day where you can shop until 8pm. there are alot of milks, breads, spaghettis here.now i realised how easy to get food in malaysia.mamaks, mcdonald delivery, nasi campur.
strathclyde is so rich in culture and architecture.basically when doing grocery walks, it is so good to absorb all the arts and buildings around. it's like food for the eye.
strathclyde has she woo supermarket where you can get asian foodstuffs galore.bought rice, nissin noodles, kimchi noodles etc etc.no worries about where to get food now.
i tried haggis for the first time. everyone should try once but i definitely like vegetarian haggis better than original.
and today we went to west end, a happening event that happens in glasgow once a year where there is parade, music, stuffs etc etc ... i haven't gotten around to read the west end booklet. not too sure about others.we did went to the museum at the end and we went to the exhibition about dr who ( a famous uk tv series) at the very last minute.fascinating stuffs inside and definitely a must see!
ps do ignore the time at the photos.the camera is a malaysian after all.
pps after coming back, miss cyik went to do her laundry and used a drier for the first time in her life!!!miss cyik will now want to go to sleep.the blog took 2 hours of her time.that pretty much sum up her life in scotland.good night
